The process of settling the estate is often referred to as estate administration. The estate consists of your loved one that has passed assets and any debts and expenses they have after their death.

If there are no disputes between the family members, it is considered an uncontested estate.

If the deceased had a will, then the person appointed as estate executor will manage the estate as it is being administered. When there is not a will was left, the person appointed to manage the estate is referred to as an administrator.
